Handy Rebound Clips can be installed without dissasembling the leaf spring. A 3/8" hole partially through the bottom of the lowest leaf to be in the clip must be drilled by using a sharp bit, slow rotation speed, and water coolant. Some leaves may already have a hole in the appropriate location which would make the drilling unnecessary. The nub on the bottom piece of the clip indexes the clip to prevent movement linearly after installation. The slots in the top piece of the clip slip over the legs of the bottom piece of the clip. The two pieces can be held to the leaf surface by a clamp or water pump type pliers during installation. Then the legs should be folded by pounding outward and bent down 180 degrees to secure the clip. The Handy Rebound clip will prevent excessive leaf splay when the suspension is unloaded on rebound and help maintain leaf alignment in the stack.

     These can retain from 1/2" thick to 1 3/4" thick packs of leaves.  Handy Rebound Clips are available for use on 5 spring widths:
