Bronze Bushing Bimetal Bushing Threaded Bronze Bushing
Springs which attach with greaseable pins or greasable bolts often use bronze, bimetal, or threaded bronze bushings. Bimetal has a bronze wear surface with a steel backing which gives the durability of bronze but does not deform when pressed in. This is a benefit because bimetal bushings rarely have to be reamed to fit the pin, wheras bronze bushings often need reaming.
To identify bronze bushings by dimension, measure the outside diameter (A), inside diameter(B), and length (C) with a micrometer, observe whether it is steel backed bronze or solid bronze and whether it has internal threads. Choose the appropriate subcategory and look up the matching bushing starting with the outside diameter to get in the appropriate group, then the inside diameter and length within the OD group. |
